Thansgiving - The American turkey spared

I survived to the second Thanksgiving in America. And to think I had just started this blog with a post about Thanksgiving and the origin of the feast (http://andyseattle.blogspot.com/2006/12/thanksgiving.html). But this year festival and a little less American 'than the Italian-Canadian. There were mushrooms and risotto with saffron and roast beef with baked potatoes, but the traditionalists did not have to miss the roast ham (ham ), sweet potatoes with marshmallows and smashed potatoes. E pecon instead of pie or pumpkin pie, a very Italian tiramisu. Yes turkey: This year we chose the pig for you. This year you have been saved, you will continue to make your gobble gobble ( glu glu for Italians who do not speak tacchinese U.S.) are running around the farmyard. But most turkey turkey less ... According to 2006 data, only for the Feast of Thanksgiving has been made out 46 million turkeys! In Italy it is almost a turkey head. Plucked turkey, baked, waited for hours, shredded, served with potatoes for thanksgiving, served in a sandwich the next day and served as a soup after two days, finished fourth in the bin because, let's face it, after a while 'one can no longer.
