Yes, after the small bibliography of the psychology of women, I dusted off some of the issues particularly dear to me.
Well, it started a period of more feminine than usual. At least on our blog ... it is clear people are not excluded: first, because when we talk about women we refer to a psychological aspect that both share half of the sky, according to still understand why, even remotely, what influences the mind of women is not for you I guess just a goal!
If you began to leaf through "Goddesses in women" have begun to acquire the so-called dee "Virgin" where virginity is not something physical, but psychological: Artemis, Hestia and Athena are a type of woman (or that part of the psyche of the woman) who is "one in itself." A woman who may have family, partner, children, but that always finds itself in its center, the ability to draw their lifeblood, their resources by itself.
Just today I must say that my Estia so powerfully present in me gave me great satisfaction! And that's why I went to meet some 'dee' virgin 'in India.
The first one that I decided to meet tonight is the ultimate warrior goddess: Durga. Gladly write you today because I know that there are many Durga (Kali sometimes!) Following this blog.
Durga is a strong female warrior.
In the Hindu religion , Durga is a form of Shakti, the feminine energy of the universe . It is represented as a woman riding a lion, with many arms and hands that wield different types of weapons and carry out various mudras (symbolic hand gestures).
In one of the versions of the myth (as we know the Hindu mythology is pretty vast and complex) as a warrior goddess Durga are the demon Mahishasura.
Mahishasura could not be defeated by any man or god, and under what rule the roost powerful unleashing terror in heaven and on earth.
Thus from the mouths of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and other lesser gods who created Durga flames went out.
Like Athena, she was born as adults and beautiful.
Above fights ... coming to defeat the demon in a way that we will see in the next post (if you already know the ending does not ruin the other please!).
Durga's figure is really beautiful and timely. It is to be a characteristic of women are frequently denied or hidden socially. A force and energy that connect the women in his native element: Earth. A woman who opposes their "power", used for defense of life, arrogance and violence for its own sake. Whitmont in his "The smile of the lioness" (in the bibliography!) Writes: "The most ancient gods of war and destruction were female ... These archaic goddesses had power and love and war. They were attributed to both the chastity as sexual promiscuity, both the maternal tenderness as a bloody destructive power. But they were not interested in conquest or territorial expansion: these were male obsessions. Rather, these goddesses controlled the cycle of life in all its phases: birth, growth, love, death and rebirth ... ".
Durga There are so many to this day: women (and men, the Goddess in their lives) fighting for the environment, human rights ... has recently disappeared just the one who had been christened the "new Durga: Vananda Shiva, Indian physics has given the world his work in defense of Earth against the exploitation of the arid and aggressive corporations. The wonderful documentary "The goddess wound" is about her, Durga and considered the real Indian women responsible for the Earth and its fruits.
This link with Earth was lost in the West, but in the past was very much present among us. Even among us there are Durga (even if we feel closest as Artemis, Athena, Hestia ...). We also have a responsibility to this land. Whitmont Because as he says: "Clearly, today the life in danger, again need to control God. In the depths of the unconscious, the ancient Goddess is coming back: to be recognized and honored ...".
This week the site will find a practice dedicated to Durga, who is a good omen ... Meanwhile Durga means if any ... if you let her talk about the Goddess ... the blog was born for this.
A hug
