Who would have thought. Back to Richmond-Vancouver for the next International curling tournament in the same club and sleep in the same hotel seven years after having been with the national team. But this time I wore the jacket of the Washington State instead of Italian. And even if the color of the state is even more green, we opted for the blue blazers, which in the end a bit 'reminded me of the blue. The tournament in question was the Pacific International Cup (http://www.picup.ca/), an international tournament for a period of 5 days, which involved several teams of the western states and central U.S., Asian teams, Australia and the winners of their respective clubs in British Columbia . A total of 20 teams divided into two groups of 10. After seven races the first two in each group enter the final phase. I would say that we did well. 6 wins out of seven after the first phase we were granted access in the semifinals. Unfortunately we lost the game to extra end against a Canadian team after a match lasting three hours. Instead the game went better for third place. We came out victorious against Minnesota and we brought home a bronze medal , more trophy and blazer anti wind. And as always there have been curling in the parties, beers, excellent restaurants (Thai cuisine, Chinese and Japanese) and new friends. Playing in Canada to an American state, despite being an Italian citizen? Priceless.

Whidbey Island
Whidbay Island to the north of the Puget Sound. With its 100 km is the longest island in Washington state and is connected to the mainland by a metal bridge that is one of the most photographed in the state. Among the first Europeans to explore the island in 1792 there were Captain George Vancouver and then Joseph Whidbey, who drew the first map and gave it its name.
tourism center parlando, l'isola ha vari State Parks, riserve e piccoli villaggi. A Nord trovate il Deception Pass State Park , dove c'è l'omonimo ponte che passa sullo stretto che collega Skagit bay allo stretto di Juan de Fuca. Ottimi panorami in tutte le direzioni. Proseguendo verso sud si incontrano Joseph Whidbey State Park , Fort Ebay State Park e Fort Casey State Park . Durante visit the weather was really favorable: sunny with a slight breeze. Illusion of spring, after five days in Seattle we have reviewed the snow ...

Hot Chocolate In Different Flavors
Curling Bonspiel April
L ' April Bonspiel is certainly one of the most anticipated tournaments of the season at Granite Curling Club Seattle. And now I've got that part, I also realized why. Each year a different theme is chosen: this year was the circus. The whole club was decorated with colored cloths on sofitto to simulate the tent, and then there were posters, colorful balloons ... and the strangest characters you'll ever meet. Several teams exhibited very special uniforms: they are seen by the punk wigs, hats to pink pig, with clowns, pharaohs, knights, bearded women, psychedelic shirts, and so on and so forth. (See the photo album to believe). We, not least, we participated in the race on Sunday morning at 8 am wearing our pajamas. Too funny. The tournament begins on Thursday night to finish on Sunday. Given the incredible number of participants (70 teams), the matches are also scheduled at the times and more impossible, such as the round of 2 am and 6 am And then the evenings were always very happy: Thursday night's competition to create animals with balloons (sembra una cosa da bimbi, ma vi assicuro che non lo é); venerdì sera (fino a mattina) karaoke per tutti; sabato sera cena ed estrazione dei premi della lotteria. Divertimento assicurato. Se poi come nel mio caso riuscite anche a portarvi a casa un terzo posto e un premio di $50 a testa, bhè questa è solo la cigliegina sulla torta!
